1962 Topps #90 Fran Tarkenton Rookie PSA 8 NM-MT
VIKINGS HOFer!!! In 1961, the Minnesota Vikings debuted in the NFL and were awarded the first overall draft pick in the 1961 NFL Draft. In the third round, they landed the big fish drafting Fran Tarkenton out of Georgia with the 29th overall pick. Fran Tarkenton finished second in in Rookie of the Year voting and soon became one of the most feared QBs in the league. His ability to scramble gave the Vikes another weapon and during his 18-year career, he scored 32 rushing touchdowns. Tark also led the Vikings to Super Bowls VIII, IX & XI while winning the 1975 NFL MVP award. Offered here is Tark's 1962 Topps #90 rookie card graded 8 NM-MT by PSA. This black-bordered beauty is in exceptional condition with only the lightest evidence of wear at the highly sensitive corners, but virtually no other flaws visible. We can assume that the NM-MT assessment from PSA stems from the slight OC on the reverse for this otherwise MINT example. This one is attractive on every front.
