HAD PALMER'S NUMBER!!! Roberto Clemente tripled off Baltimore Oriole Jim Palmer in the first and then homered off the Hall of Famer in the third of Game 6 of the 1971 World Series. When it was all said and done, the Pirates topped the Orioles in seven games as Clemente hit. 414 with 12 hits including two home runs to win MVP honors. Presented is an excellent United Press International news service photo of Clemente tripling to left in the first. This fabulous 8" x 10" image remains in excellent condition with white borders and only minor photography markings at the corners. Some even corner wear is evident. The reverse displays an erroneous pencil notation "triple in the third", but it dates the piece. Also present is the UPI stamping.
