HONUS BREAD CARD!!!... The stratospheric pricing rise for Honus Wagner's vintage cards is synonymous with a roaring tsunami, most likely prompted by his "Holy Grail" T206 subject as well as other Wagner portrait issues also boasting Carl Horner's hallowed T206 image. Indeed, this infectious inflation has spread to all of Han's pre-WWI cards, with collectors frantically pursuing any of these esteemed keepsakes. Presented here is one of the Flying Dutchman's most elusive 1910s subjects, a PSA 1.5 FR 1911-14 D304 Brunners Bread offering that joins only 17 other examples on the illustrious PSA Pop Chart. Along with his exalted T206 masterpiece, Wagner's esteemed stature is certainly fueled by his unequivocal standing as baseball's greatest all-time shortstop. A 1936 HOF charter member, Honus accumulated 3,418 lifetime hits to the tune of a sensational .328 batting average while capturing an NL record eight batting titles (tied with the great Tony Gwynn).

The card depicts a fine central batting pose of the revered icon, fortunately eluding a majority of the scattered creases plaguing all four of the outlying quadrants. Additional imperfections include standard corner wear and some negligible soiling spots on the verso. Atypical excellent centering and bright baby blue/green hues are eye-pleasing attributes, with the final exclamation point being a bold green Brunners ad-back. The extraordinary and record-breaking $50K sale of a PSA 3 D304 Wagner in Memory Lane's May 2024 auction certainly caught the attention of a myriad of collectors, substantiating the notion that there is seemingly no end in sight for the unlimited investment potential for any of Honus Wagner's scarce pre-WWI mementos!
