ALL OR NOTHING!!! This was the type of hitter Foxx was for much of his career, a home run or strikeout kind of guy. However, this was highly successful for the Athletics and Red Sox first baseman, as he led the American League in home runs on four occasions, during the era of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig's offensive assault on AL pitchers, but also led the league in Ks seven times. But nobody counts his strikeouts; Jimmie Foxx is remembered for his power as he crushed 534 home runs, won three MVP awards (the first player to win three), and led the Philadelphia A's to three World Series, winning in 1929 & '30.
