(LOT 37)
1932 U.S. Caramel #11 Rogers Hornsby PSA 8 NM-MT

NL'S GREATEST HITTER!!! Guys like Rogers Hornsby do not come along very often, and in fact, he is on a very short list of the greatest hitters in history and THE best ever to play in the National League. Rogers led the NL in batting average seven times, second only to Ty Cobb's remarkable twelve, and has the highest career batting average of any National Leaguer to-date with a .358, also behind Cobb (.366) and Oscar Charleston (.364).

Hornsby was the last NL player to hit .400 for a season and he did so three times. In 1922, he became the first player in history to hit more than 40 home runs (42) and bat over .400 (.401) in a single season. Presented here is a 1932 U.S. Caramel #11 Rogers Hornsby in a PSA 8 NM-MT holder. This POP 4 example has only a single card graded higher. Showing a bright scarlet background inside four white borders, the image of Rajah is clear and concise. Razor-sharp edging and corners serve to affirm this example's high-grade stature.
