Upon its release in November 1994, Black Friday, Donkey Kong Country sold 500,000 copies within the first week. This first appearance of Diddy Kong set a record for the fastest selling video game of all time. It has sold more than 9.3-million copies since its initial offering and is the third best-selling SNES game ever.
