Gameplay gave players control of bounty hunter, Samus Aran, who is tasked to retrieve the kidnapped infant Metroid from the grasps of notorious space pirate leader, Ridley. This 2D side-scrolling game allows Samus to search the planet of Zebes, bursting through doors, using elevators and jump, run, crouch, roll and fire a weapon. It even offers her the skill of Moon Walking, backsliding as she's firing or recharging her weapon.

Super Metroid was met with critical acclaim and considered "absolutely marvelous and you should own it (sic)". As the top game for the SNES system in 1994, Super Metroid sold more than 1.4-million copies worldwide as of 2003. The offered POP 4 example of Super Metroid offers brilliant color and has been graded 9.6 by WATA with an "A" seal rating. This Made in Japan, No Rating, 3 Line Warranty box (USA Code) version has only three equals and currently stands as the highest graded copy in the hobby.
