Babe Ruth Signed 1942 World Series Yankee Stadium Unscored Program – PSA 9 MINT Autograph

BAMBINO SIGNED WORLD SERIES PROGRAM!!!... The 1942 World Series would see the defending champion New York Yankees face off against the NL pennant-winning St. Louis Cardinals. Although the Yankees would win game #1 at Sportsman Park, the Cardinals would sweep the next four games (including the final three games at Yankee Stadium) to best the Bronx Bombers and claim baseball's 1942 World Championship. In attendance at Yankee Stadium would be none other than the incomparable George Herman "Babe" Ruth, and synonymous with his benevolent personality, the Babe signed this 1942 World Series program that was issued for games three, four and five at the iconic Yankee Stadium. Scripted "Babe Ruth" in bold led pencil within the upper left quadrant, PSA has rightfully awarded this timeless signature a "9 MINT" assessment, with some captivated fan the fortunate recipient of this Cooperstown worthy heirloom. Any Babe Ruth autograph is extremely coveted by avid collectors, let alone one that resides on the front cover of an historical 1942 Fall Classic program.

The bold pencil script also provides an added advantage since pencil is not as susceptible to fading, as is the case with many pre-war fountain pen signatures. The program itself remains in EX+ condition with a completely fastened spine, no glaring surface blemishes, minimal corner wear, and all of the interior pages intact including super clean unmarked scorecards. Minor flaws include some scattered areas of surface toning/soiling on both the front and back covers; none of which distracting from the imposing eye appeal of the ultra-popular and colorful War Bonds illustration portraying a young ballplayer and his dog greeting a representative of our country's military. The Sultan of Swat's unparalleled standing as baseball's greatest player ever solidifies the necessity for any serious hobbyist to add a Ruth autograph to their esteemed gathering, and this ultra-obscure scripted 1942 World Series program suffices as a grand opportunity to make this collector's dream a bona fide reality!
