Babe Ruth Signed 1947 Letter w/a PSA 10 GEM MINT Signature – PSA Authentic/Encapsulation

GEM MINT SIGNED BABE LETTER!!!... By the spring of 1947, the immortal George Herman Ruth was in the fight of his life, battling the ill effects of throat cancer that would ultimately claim his life on August 16, 1948. Even throughout this dire time, the unflappable Ruth would continue appeasing his infinite fan base to the best of his ability, attending a myriad of functions, answering letters and providing his autograph whenever possible to his smitten admirers. No one would ever expect anything less from the King of Swat who, for the longest time, demonstrated his unparalleled devotion to his ardent followers via a simple autograph. His arguable closest friend, Hall of Fame pitcher Waite Hoyt, was one quoted as saying that "I must have seen the Babe sign over 10,000 baseballs", and while not a horsehide sphere, this boldly signed PSA 10 GEM MINT "Babe Ruth" autograph on a typed letter stands as one of his more prominent scripted heirlooms.

Indeed, while there is an abundance of Babe Ruth autographed artifacts in circulation, ones graded PSA 10 Gem Mint are few and far between. This particular letter dated May 29, 1947 on Babe Ruth letterhead is addressed to Gene Ford, with the Sultan of Swat thanking Mr. Ford for his public contribution to the Babe Ruth Foundation. Ruth goes on to say: "It made me very proud, and it is nice to know I have many good friends such as yourself." Of course, the super bold black fountain pen "Babe Ruth" script is the highlight of this remarkable offering that other than some faint horizontal mailing folds, has eluded any obtrusive flaws. One of the boldest signed Ruth letters extant; this museum worthy masterpiece once again substantiates Ruth's unparalleled popularity with his captivated fans who absolutely adored this giant of a man!
