(LOT 1769)
Pair of 1922 Official Scorecards from Brooklyn and Chicago

Offered is a pair of vintage scorecards from the 1922 Major League Baseball season. Each program remains in excellent overall condition with minimal expected aging at the periphery and along the bindings. 1) Brooklyn Robins – National League scorecard versus the visiting Cincinnati Reds. This 6-3/4" x 9-3/4" black and red printed scorecard has been partially, and lightly, scored in pencil, above the printed scorecard grid (for some reason) listing each game's score in the two-game doubleheader. It is also dated in pencil at the upper left corner "Aug. 5, 1922". 2) A brilliantly colored orange and blue Official Score Book from Comiskey Park in Chicago measuring 6" x 8 3/4". Though the players surnames have been printed in green within the center scorecards featuring Detroit vs. Chicago, the scoring grids remain unscored. This game was highlighted by multiple Hall of Famers including Chicago's Eddie Collins, Harry Hooper and Ray Schalk while Detroit fielded HOFers Ty Cobb and Harry Heilmann.
