(LOT 1768)
1911 Pittsburgh Pirates Scored Program with Wagner vs. the Chicago Cubs with Tinker & Evers

On September 14, 1911, the Pirates faced the Cubs in a doubleheader with Pittsburgh taking Game 1 by a score of 3-to-2 on a Fred Clarke home run. Game 2 was much of the same as Wagner's Bucs beat the Joe Tinker and Johnny Evers-led Cubbies 4-2 with Pittsburgh's Lefty Leifield outdueling Chicago's Lew Ritchie. Offered is a scored scorecard from that game held in the Steel City This 7-3/4" x 10" scorecard remains in excellent condition with expected aging wear apparent from 111-years of handling and storage.

A relatively unobtrusive fold is apparent at the center of the program, but nothing detracts from the central pencil-scored lineup cards within the program. The preprinted Chicago lineup displays a "9/14 – 2nd game" at the crease in black fountain pen and each team scorecard has been marked with both pencil and fountain pen with the latter marking the significant statistics such as runs, hits, score and final score on the Cubs page. Frank Chance of the famed Tinker-Evers-Chance appeared only as a pinch hitter in this contest. Overall, the program remains in excellent condition with only minimal signs of handling wear.
