1909-11 T206 Sweet Caporal Signed Lefty Leifield - JSA Autograph Authentic SGC 3 VG
Not necessarily one of the names you might consider as a leading control pitcher, Lefty Leifield kept batters guessing throughout his 12-years career and still stands among the top 50 pitchers with a 2.47 career ERA. Despite losing his only start, he helped the Pittsburgh Pirates capture the 1909 World Series over the Ty Cobb-led Detroit Tigers. Offered is a 1910 Sweet Caporal T206 Autographed Lefty Leifield card encased as VG 3 by SGC with the signature authenticated by JSA. The black ballpoint signature stands out against the yellowish-orange background at left at a 7-8 strength. Bright and colorful throughout, this card shows expected surface wear in the form of rounded corners and corner creasing (upper right) on both the front and back. A real treasure and sought-after autograph!
