(LOT 706)
Ultra-Scarce 1967 Roger Maris All-Pro Cereal Box – Amazing Unopened Box & The First Time a Baseball Player Appeared on the FRONT of a Cereal Box

The legendary Roger Maris played his final two seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1967 and 1968. The aging outfielder, now stripped of most of his famous home run power, would only belt 14 round-trippers those final two seasons before his inevitable retirement. Yet, as most historians would agree, Maris had already solidified his niche in baseball history when he eclipsed the "Sultan of Swat's" 60-homer mark in 1961 by walloping 61 long balls. To commemorate this celebrated player, All-Pro Protein Cereal decided to place an imposing Roger Maris St. Louis Cardinal batting image on the FRONT of their popular cereal box in 1967.

Incredible as it may seem, this marked the FIRST time a baseball player was placed on the FRONT of a cereal box, with all of the prior Wheaties boxes portraying ballplayers on the verso! With that in mind, presented here is a remarkable memento from Roger Maris' inaugural season with St. Louis; an UNOPENED 1967 All-Pro cereal box that miraculously still includes its original cereal contents with the top of the box seal never compromised! The front of the box reveals the classic Maris left-handed batting swing as he drives another baseball towards the furthest confines of the ballpark. The verso is likewise magnificent with Maris stealing the show via three base-running images, an imposing picture of the home run champion eating a bowl of All-Pro Cereal, his facsimile signature and tips on how to be an "All-Pro" base runner.

Amazing to say the least, the box looks as though it was recently pulled off the shelf of a supermarket, and our utmost compliments to its prior owners who meticulously preserved it in factory issued condition. Unimaginable to say the least, while we would highly advise you not to open this box and entertain eating its contents, we do strongly recommend placing the final bid for an historic cereal box depicting a ballplayer on its front side for the very first time!
