Along with high-grade Hall of Famer rookie cards, no memorabilia can be considered more desirable in the sports collectibles industry than artifacts signed by both Ruth and Gehrig. Photos and baseballs including the illustrious scripts of these two icons are realizing stratospheric pricing points, with no end to their increasing value seemingly in sight. This comes as no surprise because no pair of baseball players have ever nor will ever dominate our National Pastime as the iconic batting crew of George Herman "Babe Ruth" and Henry Louis Gehrig. For years, this incomparable dynamic duo was the heart and soul of the famous New York Yankees "Murder's Row", wreaking havoc on a myriad of American League hurlers such to the point that they were accumulating more combined home runs than virtually every Major League team! This Atlantic League red and green stitched baseball has been signed by both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in steel-tip black fountain pen with NO other signatures included on the ball. Many 1920's and 1930's balls that include Ruth and Gehrig autographs also carry signatures of other players including team balls, tour of Japan, All Star and other unique ballplayer compilations.

Typically, Babe Ruth has signed the sweet spot with his signature portraying the qualities of a conservative near-mint autograph. No major "skips" in the signature are evident as well as no horsehide surface abrasions disrupting the flow of Babe Ruth's majestic name. While Ruth's bold and brash personality lent him to distinctly sign his name bolder than most, typical Gehrig signatures appear significantly lighter, reflecting the "Iron Horse's" laid back personality within his pen stroke. Fortunately for one extremely lucky collector, the Lou Gehrig signature on the east side panel, likewise displays near mint qualities, virtually on par with he "Bambino's" autograph strength. Of significant mention is that virtually all Ruth/Gehrig signed balls provide inconsistent signature strength and size, but this landmark baseball depicts the near-perfect consistency in both autographs sought after by all high end Ruth/Gehrig baseball collectors.

While the consistently toned ball is not clean white, all of the stitches are intact and the horsehide surface is not obtrusively worn in any area. Also lending to the ball's desirability is that BOTH signatures can be easily displayed since the Gehrig autograph situated on the east horseshoe panel (to the left of Ruth) is only ½" from where the Babe Ruth signature commences. This baseball offers completely intact stitching, no major surface abrasions, eye pleasing consistent toning and the scripts of baseball's unequivocal diamond duos with both their signatures portraying consistent near mint strength. Simply stated, the Babe Ruth/Lou Gehrig tandem represents our National Pastime's most incomparable duo, standing higher than the game itself.
