(LOT 11)
1938 Babe Ruth Signed Official N.L. Ford Frick Baseball - Displays as a "Single" - Full PSA/DNA LOA!

No memorabilia artifact could possibly be more desirable than an imposing Babe Ruth signed Official N.L./A.L. baseball. The sheer thought of placing such a hallowed artifact on one's favorite mantelpiece or curio cabinet shelf spurs the finest "spine tingling" feeling from any sophisticated enthusiast, for no baseball player past, present or future will ever be able to compete with the 'Sultan of Swat's" larger than life persona. The "Babe" exemplifies everything our National Pastime represents at a level that exceeds the game itself. Each passing day, his popularity increases profoundly, with avid collectors actively seeking to capture any of his most valuable artifacts. While both Aaron and Bonds have surpassed his 714 home run total, there remains an unequivocal mystique tied to the "Bambino's 714 mark, and his Boston Red Sox pitching exploits coupled with his uncontested batting achievements unquestionably place him as baseball's "greatest player ever. As a testament to his unparalleled power, the great Walter Johnson was once asked if anyone hit the ball harder than Babe Ruth.

The "Big Train" responded: "I can't say for sure if Ruth hit the ball the hardest, but his batted balls got smaller a lot faster than anyone"! While there are an abundance of Ruth mementos to fill the collector void such as baseball cards, photos, etc., NONE could possibly match the sheer satisfaction of a brilliantly signed horsehide sphere that displays as a "Single", with only the exalted "Babe Ruth" signature visible to the public. It is critical to note that while signed Ruth baseballs are certainly not rare, "Official" signed examples either "single signed" or PRESENTING as "single signed" are few and far between, especially considering the incredible supply and demand concept associated with these exalted heirlooms. With that in mind, presented here is an Official National League Ford Frick baseball with an outstanding blue fountain pen "Babe Ruth" script across his customary sweet spot. Authenticated by the illustrious PSA/DNA Company (a full PSA/DNA LOA is included), the ultra-large signature covers nearly the entire sweet spot, grading a conservative "NM/7", with the additional signature of southpaw pitcher Max Butcher depicted on the East/Right panel.

Interestingly enough, Butcher's signature places the estimated signing of this ball to 1938, since that is the only year Ruth coached first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers, with Butcher one of the 'Bum's" staring pitcher that season. Butcher would actually be the Dodger's losing pitcher for Johnny Vander Meer's record setting second consecutive no-hitter on June 15, 1938, played at the inaugural; night game at Ebbets Field. As previously stated, this magnificent baseball can be displayed as a "Single" Babe Ruth autographed baseball, with the tightly red-stitched horsehide sphere reflecting no obtrusive surface flaws and exhibiting the standard toning typically associated with any 78-year old baseball.

The "Sultan of Swat" has set the ultimate benchmark for all other players to be measured against, justifying why he is the supreme baseball immortal and irrefutable embodiment of a world-wide hero. What better collectible to seize of this "greater than life" legend than one of his finer signed baseballs depicting a mammoth-like blue fountain pen script of this flamboyant icon. One of the hobby's quintessential examples, and synonymous with the Bambino's Goliath like power, now is the time to emulate the "Sultan of Swat" himself and hit a colossal home run of your own by seizing this grandeur keepsake! - Full PSA/DNA LOA
