c.1930s Lou Gehrig PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Brown Brothers Photo – Measures Approx. 7-1/2" x 9-1/2"

THE IRON HORSE!!! This classic 1930s PSA Type 1 offering boasts the mighty Iron Horse in an awe-inspiring batting pose that led to a whopping 493 round-trippers. Lou is donning his Yankees gray road flannels, and while we cannot pinpoint this to a specific game/year, the background red, white and blue bunting leads us to believe it is opening day, an All-Star game or the World Series. Of course, the immortal Gehrig played in so many of these aforementioned games, with his undisputed stature as baseball's greatest all-time first sacker etched in stone, as well as being one of our National Pastime's top five greatest hitters.

His uncanny .340 average, 1,995 RBIs and 1.080 lifetime OPS all justify that notion, and you can literally feel his unparalleled power via this crystal-clear heirloom. No obtrusive flaws compromise the imposing central batting pose, with the only notable blemishes being a negligible lower right corner chip, a faint vertical wrinkle barely visible to the naked eye in the upper left quadrant, and some light diagonal wrinkles along the lower left corner. The final compliment is the prestigious Brown Brother's credit stamp on the verso, making this enthralling Gehrig batting image a bona fide winner for any esteemed collection!
