Although the Bronx Bombers would lose this particular game 4-2 to the Red Sox, the Yanks had long clinched the AL pennant, ultimately finishing 102-52 and besting second-place Detroit by a whopping 13 games. The World Series would start at Yankee Stadium five days later on October 6th, against the New York Giants, with the Yankees easily beating their cross-river rivals in five games. Both the Iron Horse and the Yankee Clipper would belt series homers, and their portrayal on this timeless masterpiece turns back the clock some 87 years to that storied campaign.
