(LOT 1596)
c. 1989 Mike Tyson vs. Carl Williams Weigh-In - Type 1 PSA Encapsulated Bob Olson/NY Post Photo

In 1989, Mike Tyson was the "Baddest Man on the Planet" as the Heavyweight Champion of the World, and that was in the era of Michael Spinks, Leonard, Cesar Chavez, Hearns and Marvin Hagler. Tyson was unlike all of his contemporaries as a street fighting puncher with a diabolically punishing right hand. In November 1986, Tyson won the WBC belt; in March 1987 he captured the WBA belt; and in August that same year, he won the IBF heavyweight belt to become the first heavyweight boxer to hold all three belts simultaneously as the undisputed Champion of the World. By the time Tyson faced Carl Williams (as pictured here), he was 36-0 and he KOed Williams in 93 seconds. Williams lasted two seconds longer than Spinks a year prior, though Spinks offered better odds. The pictured Williams fight weigh-in was the last win before "Buster" Douglas KOed Tyson in Tokyo only seven months later. Holdered Type 1, this Bob Olen/NY Post 8" x 10" photo offers Iron Mike in his prime and in leopard skin bottoms!
