(LOT 19)
Incredibly Rare and Remarkably Well-Preserved Circa-1910s 37" x 13" Jumbo Chicago Cubs Pennant!

During the early 1900s and 1910s, the Chicago Cubs were the team to beat as they captured four National League pennants (1906-08, 1910) and two World Series titles in 1907 & '08. Merchants in and around the Windy City rightfully produced memorabilia commemorating their team's success. Presented here is a spectacularly well-preserved and ultra-rare Chicago Cubs pennant dating to that era, offering rich, vibrant color and minimal but expected aging. Displaying only slight fading of the blue felt on the face, accentuated only by the incredibly brilliant blue still abundantly noticeable on the back.

The pennant remains in superb condition with the appliqué offering only light crazing and a few spots of mild emulsion surrounding the ferocious Cubbie Bear image. This extraordinary pennant is still in superior condition, eluding any major condition issues after more than 110 years of storage, and continues to hold the manufacturer's tag on the back. Measuring approximately 37" x 13", there are no tack holes, save for a couple evident on the upper tassel, standard for this era of pennants. This unique example is extremely rare and an impossible survivor from the Cubs championship era. Sure to be the cornerstone of any memorabilia collection, this intensely visual pennant has been reverently cared for and fabulously preserved for over a century, and our winning bidder's response will surely emulate the Cubbie bear's expression upon seeing it in person for the first time.
