President Harry Truman Type-Written Signed Thank You Note for Pair of $500 Checks May 6th, 1955 PSA/DNA LOA
President Harry Truman wrote to Ray Niles of the Niles & Moser Cigar Company on May 6th, 1955, thanking him for the two $500 checks he sent. Two days later, on his 71st birthday, Truman broke ground for the construction of a privately financed Harry S. Truman Library building. The checks possibly helped add to the private financing of this building as Truman and the cigar company were both located in Kansas City, Missouri. Signed in black felt tip pen, a great piece of presidential history.
