(LOT 470)
1933 Goudey #149 Babe Ruth PSA 3 VG

IMPOSING BAMBINO GOUDEY!!! One of Babe Ruth's highly touted bubble gum cards is his 1933 Goudey #149 half-body swinging pose marvel, presented here in a stellar PSA VG 3 holder. The Babe's stranglehold as baseball's greatest all-time player is irrefutable, with a vast number of his 714 home runs walloped when teams didn't even hit 50 in a season! Add the fact that the Sultan of Swat was the premier southpaw pitcher when he wore a Beantown uniform, and it justifies why he stands alone as the greatest player to ever grace a baseball diamond. Ruth's majestic Charles Conlon batting pose is a testament to his immortality as he watches another mighty wallop sail towards the grandstands. Set against a striking red background, the sparkling Ruth pose nearly projects a 3D aura, as it appears the Babe is ready to jump off the card. No obtrusive surface flaws are evident, with the assessment due to even corner wear and some negligible etching along the left border. Yet, most significantly, its sheer existence and desirable PSA 3 grade steal the show, with this timeless artifact issued during an era when Ruth was still dominating America's pastime at a level no player could possibly match!
