1951 Jackie Robinson Belts a 3-Run Homer; with Snider & Hodges PSA Type 1 Encapsulated ACME Newspictures Photo – Measures Approx. 8" x 10"
JACKIE BLASTS A 3-RUN DINGER!!! The immortal Jackie Robinson dealt with on-going racial barbs throughout his career, and in the early part of the 1951 campaign, he was receiving threatening letters not to play against the Reds in a doubleheader at Crosley Field on May 20, 1951. Jackie's unbridled courage led him to disregard the threats, playing that day and slugging a three-run homer to pace Brooklyn to a convincing 10-3 win over Cincinnati. The Dodgers would take game #2 as well to sweep the twin bill, with this classic PSA Type 1 photo portraying Robinson crossing home plate after his three-run dinger while being greeted by Hodges, Abrams, and Snider. The flipside's detailed caption and ACME NEWSPICTURES credit stamps are the final superlatives for this awe-inspiring Jackie Robinson heirloom!
