GEM MINT MUNSON!!! In 1971, Thurman Munson posted a near-flawless .998 fielding percentage behind the plate for the New York Yankees, committing only one error and leading the American League in caught stealing percentage with 61%. And he was only 24. It was abundantly apparent that Munson was one of the best in the game by only his second season behind the plate. Already the 1970 AL Rookie of the Year, Munson would lead the Yankees to two World Series titles and capture three Gold Gloves. Sadly, his career was cut short by his untimely death in a plane crash in 1979. Offered here is a 1972 Topps #441 Thurman Munson graded GEM MINT 10 by PSA. This is one of the finest PSA 10 Munsons from '72 we have ever offered and, frankly, one of the finest in existence. Perfect clarity, blizzard-white borders, blood-drawing corners and flawless surfaces. Munson was one of the greatest ever and this is one of the greatest 1972 Topps issues of the Yankees Captain!
