PSA 8 BOWMAN MICK!!! Presented here is an outstanding PSA 8 NM-MT 1955 Bowman Mantle that has been bested by only 15 of the approximate 4,400 PSA encapsulated specimens! When considering the composition of the 1955 Bowman cards and their highly condition-sensitive wood-grain borders, it's remarkable that this offering doesn't reveal any noticeable border flaking. Similar to the 1962 and 1971 Topps issues, attaining high-grade 1955 Bowman subjects is truly an excruciating task. The rising prices of high-grade Mantle cards asserted themselves in strong fashion in Memory Lane's July 2021 auction, with a PSA 9 Mint '55 Bowman Mantle fetching a record-setting $210K! Mantle's classic batting pose depicts crystal-clear clarity and atypically reveals a near-perfectly centered image. Just as impressive is the lack of any glaring surface loss within the brown borders, with only some slight wear along the lower edge and two microscopic chips along the upper right edge. Sparkling hues, square corners, and clean surfaces are additional pack-fresh attributes justifying the assessment.
