(LOT 263)
1969 Topps #85 Dave DeBusschere Rookie PSA 9 MINT

WISE CHOICE!!! In 1963, Dave DeBusschere turned in his cleats and gloves for a pair of hightops to pursue a professional basketball career. The hard-throwing DeBusschere pitched two seasons with the Chicago White Sox, going 3-4 over 36 games, before he opted for the hardcourts of the NBA. But Big D obviously made the correct decision, as he became one of the greatest forwards in NBA history. DeBusschere played 13 seasons in the NBA with his hometown Detroit Pistons and the New York Knicks. Teamed with Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe, Big D won two NBA championships in 1970 and '73, was named to the All-Star Game eight times and was an NBA All-Defensive First Team member six times. Offered here is the 1969 Topps #85 Dave DeBusschere rookie card graded 9 MINT by PSA. Displaying the standard backwards jersey from this release, Dave DeBusschere is centered perfectly within a snow-white frame. The corners and edging are razor-sharp, and the surfaces show no evidence of flaws or abrasions. This highest graded example is one of the nicest Big D rookie cards Memory Lane has ever offered.
