CLYDE ROOKIE!!! Walt Frazier was, as they say, "cool as the other side of the pillow" both on the court and off. His calmness under pressure and unrelenting defense made him one of the great point guards of the NBA and earned him two NBA titles. Earning the nickname "Clyde", paying homage to Warren Beatty's character in "Bonnie and Clyde", which was released in his 1967 draft year, Frazier often donned a fedora and mink coat, showing off his style as he entered Madison Square Garden each night. Imagine a night out with Clyde and Broadway Joe in 1967! But Frazier was more than style; he was a defensive force, earning seven straight All-Defense nods (1969-75), seven NBA All-Star appearances and two championships in 1970 and '73. For a kid growing up learning basketball on dirt playgrounds in the poor segregated South, Frazier became one of the greatest point guards the NBA has ever seen.
