(LOT 85)
1927 Babe Ruth Multi-Signed Baseball From Spring Training PSA/DNA LOA

This Official National League baseball dated March 26th, 1927 in an unknown hand was signed during spring training game between the Yankees and Cincinnati Reds in West Palm Beach, Fla. In 1927. Prominently signed on the north panel is The Sultan of Swat himself, Babe Ruth. According to the included newspaper clipping, this was the only ball Ruth hit out of the infield, as he drilled a foul ball down the foul line before hitting a girl in the head upon which D.C. Register snatched it up. Other players who've signed this baseball include Baseball Hall of Famers George L. Kelly and Eppa Rixey, stars Clyde Sukeforth, Bob Meusel, Ethan Allen and more. The Yankees won 110 games in 1927, then swept the Pirates in four-straight in the World Series. This baseball was signed during Spring Training 1927 and not even the great Babe Ruth could have imagined the ride that he and the '27 Yankees squad were about to embark upon. The ball is in good condition with the signatures ranging from "2-6" with Babe Ruth's being the strongest ("6") of the signers. Also included with baseball is a letter from "6/8/77" detailing the links from one consignor to the next as the ball changed hands on at least two separate occasions. Letter of provenance, news clipping and Letter of Authenticity included for this baseball from PSA/DNA.
