(LOT 130)
Babe Ruth Signed Chemical Bank & Trust Co. Check – Dated December 9, 1941 – PSA Authentic/Encapsulated

No baseball memorabilia collection could possibly be considered complete without an imposing autograph of the majestic George Herman "Babe" Ruth. You will receive no argument from any baseball historian that the Sultan of Swat is our National Pastime's greatest all-time player. From the pitcher's rubber with the Boston Red Sox (1915-'19), and from the batter's box with the New York Yankees (1920-'34), he was, undoubtedly, the best of the rest, leading the BoSox to three World Series victories, while slugging his way to home run immortality with the Yankees. With that in mind, it would make sense to capture one of the Bambino's more popular autographed keepsakes, and this formidable Babe Ruth signed check from 1941 easily falls into that hallowed category. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA, this cancelled Chemical Bank & Trust Company check has been eloquently scripted "G.H. Ruth" in bold black fountain pen, revealing 8/9 strength.

Payable in the amount of $50 check to "Cash", it is clearly obvious this entire December 9, 1941 check was written in Ruth's right hand. Further enhancing its desirability is its large format style with "BABE RUTH" printed sideways along the left border, and atypically, this particular offering bears no obtrusive tears or creases. It's no secret that the value for Ruth signed checks over the past year have soared like an ICBM Missile, with superior examples such as this grand offering now fetching well in excess of $10,000. No esteemed Ruth collection could possibly be complete without an original autograph of the Sultan of Swat for no ballplayer could remotely match his captivating charisma, as well as his aforementioned unparalleled pitching and hitting prowess combination. The Sultan of Swat's diamond exploits will echo for eternity, and we cannot imagine a more suitable "Ruthian" heirloom than one of his original bold autographs on a cancelled check!
