(LOT 131)
Babe Ruth Signed "Injured Hand" Image – Measures Approx. 4-1/2" x 5" - PSA Authentic & Encapsulation

This outstanding 4-1/2" x 5" Babe Ruth signed image cut has been eloquently scripted "Babe Ruth" in bold blue fountain pen, with the imposing autograph portraying approximate "7/8" aesthetics. Virtually any vintage autograph enthusiast is bound to get excited at the thought of owning a signed Ruth image, with this stoic illustration revealing the great Bambino looking at his bandaged left hand. While many signed checks, baseballs, and blank cuts are abundant within the collecting community, autographed images of Ruth are few and far between, with this particular offering appearing to be either a magazine or newspaper photo affixed to a blank paper/cardboard mount.

Interestingly enough, it was Ruth's injured finger (as a result of a nail tearing off his finger after trying to make a catch against a wire fence), that eliminated any chance of "The Babe" breaking his 60-homer mark, with the Bambino ultimately ending the 1930 campaign with 49 dingers. The classic black & white image literally jumps off its bright white backing, and you can clearly see the tope edge reflects an irregular manual trim. Otherwise, there are no obtrusive flaws whatsoever, placing this signed Ruthian treasure as one of the more formidable and eclectic Ruth autographs. The "Sultan of Swat's" unparalleled standing as baseball's greatest player via his unprecedented diamond achievements forever solidifies the necessity for any serious hobbyist to add a Ruth autograph to their esteemed gathering, and this certainly resides as a grand opportunity to make this collector's dream a bona fide reality!
