(LOT 1293)
c.1950s Original Type 1 Stan Musial 7" x 9" International News Photos News Service Photograph - PSA Encapsulated

By the 1950s, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Stan Musial had already won his three National League MVP Awards and led the Redbirds World Series titles in 1942, 1944 & 1946. From 1941-49, Stan "The Man" was the NL's premier hitter with 1,432 hits 302 doubles, 146 home runs and 706 RBIs with a .347 batting average. That's a career for most ballplayers! Offered is an original circa-1950s International News Photos Type 1 photo of Stan Musial posing with his bat over his shoulder. This 7" x 9" news service photograph is in great condition with ink notations at the bottom and right borders. A small portion of the lower left corner is missing, save for the notes, the border remains clean and issue free. The back displays the International News Photos stamping, with pencil notations and an addition "Neo Gravure Prtg. Co. Inc. - New York" stamp dated "Jan 2 1953" in black at bottom right.
