1909-11 T206 Piedmont Signed Fred Snodgrass - JSA Autograph Authentic & SGC 2 GOOD
In 1908, when Fred Snodgrass signed with the John McGraw-led New York Giants, he was fourth on the depth chart at catcher behind HOFer Roger Bresnahan, Admiral Schlei and Chief Meyers. McGraw tried him around the diamond and he eventually landed as the Giants starting centerfielder. He spent eight years in center for NY and 1-1/2 years with the Boston Braves. Offered is a 1911 Piedmont Cigarettes T206 Fred Snodgrass donning both catcher's mask and mitt. This colorful SGC 2 Good encased example has been JSA Authenticated for the striking blue signature "Fred C. Snodgrass" to the left of the player image. Bright and colorful throughout, this card shows expected surface wear in the form of rounded corners and minimal corner creasing on both the front and back with slightly more toning apparent on the reverse. This is an outstanding example that appears better than the offered grade!
