1909-11 T206 Sovereign 150/25 Signed Rube Marquard Hands at Thighs - PSA/DNA Authentic 9 MINT
It is hard to believe that someone with 73 wins in a three-year span was the Number 2 pitcher on his squad, but that was the case for Rube Marquard from 1911-1913 as he pitched behind Hall of Fame hurler Christy Mathewson for the New York Giants. Mathewson was already virtually the best pitcher in baseball nearing the tail end of his career, but Marquard was on his way up. Rube and Christy actually posted similar records during that span, 73-28 and 74-36 respectively, while Marquard edged Big Six in winning percentage with a shocking .723 mark. Offered is a 1909-11 T206 Sovereign 150/25 Rube Marquard Hands at Thighs encased by PSA/DNA as a MINT 9 signature. Signed diagonally across the white of his uniform, the autograph is in bold black ink. The card remains vibrant and colorful with minimal age wear at the rounded corners and light toning.
