Some 110 years later, Rube Marquard's 1912 record of 19 straight wins without a loss to start the Major League season remains intact. This record stands alongside Joe DiMaggio's remarkable 56-game hitting streak from the 1941 season as one of baseball's likely unbreakable records. If you include his final starts of the 1911 season, when he earned a win and no-decision, Marquard had a 20-game win streak that lasted until Carl Hubbell tossed 24-straight wins in 1936 and '37.
