The 1888-89 Goodwin & Co. N173 cabinet card set is comprised of more than 500 ballplayers photographed in alternate poses, mirroring the N172 Old Judge "tobacco card" set issued the previous year. These 4-1/4" x 6-1/2" cabinets were available only through the mail via a coupon exchange promotion. Comiskey appears in the set with eight different poses. The offered card is check listed as "fielding with his hands high and no visible ball". This vibrant sepia-toned specimen shows little to no aging except for minor corner wear from more than a century of storage.
