(LOT 43)
1915 Cracker Jack #18 Johnny Evers (SGC 96 MINT 9) - "1 of 4"; Highest Graded Example on Both the SGC & PSA Pop Charts!

The Cracker Jack cardboard relics included in caramel candy boxes in 1914 and 1915 are one of the most coveted cardboard collectibles in our illustrious hobby. One of the set's most renowned players is the immortal Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame 2nd baseman Johnny Evers, presented here in a breathtaking SGC "Mint 9" holder. Currently, only 3 other copies have managed to achieve this stratospheric grade that stands as the premier assessment on booth the SGC and PSA census reports! There isn't a single baseball fan that hasn't heard of the "Tinker to Evers to Chance" double play combination that led the Cubs to several pennants and two World Championships in 1907 and 1908.

This example lists the legendary "second cog" in that famous trio as a member of his new Boston Braves National League team, one year after assisting the Braves in sweeping the heavily favorite Athletics in the 1914 World Series. A classic Evers throwing image is vividly registered and set against a solid bright red background. The image reveals near-perfect centering, residing between four blinding white borders that end at blistering sharp corner tips. The final exclamation point for this 103-year-old prize is a robust red background accompanied by jet black text. Miraculous to say the least, this easily suffices as one of the finest Cracker Jack cards you will ever come across, and one that steadfastly sits at the top of any grading services' pop charts!
