(LOT 42)
1915 Cracker Jack #6 Eddie Plank (SGC 96 MINT 9) - "1 of 1"; Highest Graded Example on Both the SGC & PSA Pop Charts!

"Gettysburg" Eddie, as he was commonly called, is one of the game's greatest southpaw pitchers, justified by his 327 lifetime wins and eight 20+-win seasons. The prestige associated with his renowned 1909 T206 tobacco card has placed his vintage cards high on collectors want lists, with his esteemed Cracker Jack card one of the most coveted Plank specimens in the hobby. Presented here just happens to be an SGC "Mint 9" gem of this iconic Hall of Famer that stands ALONE on the SGC census report as the finest of its kind!

Although he is wearing his Famous Philadelphia Athletics uniform, his 1915 Cracker Jack lists him as a member of the St. Louis club of the newly formed Federal League that he defected to in 1914. His representation on this offering is nothing short of sensational with a classic portrait pose set against a "fire engine" red background. Fine centering, blistering sharp corner tips, blinding white borders, pristine like surfaces and razor-sharp edging complete this absolutely unfathomable marvel that has eluded any noticeable wear to stand on top of the pop charts as the finest of its kind!
