1963 Topps Gift Agreement Signed by Hank Aaron and more PSA/DNA Pre-Certified
This Hank Aaron Contract from 1962 is from The Topps Company and has very interesting content. Evidently Major League Baseball Players were paid by gifts from Topps in the 60's for them to be on their cards. This dated letter from Sy Berger of Topps to Hank Aaron indicates that Hank was to be given a set of Samsonite Luggage for payment of his 1962 Topps card. The letter goes on to say, that Hank was given an advance payment of a Johnson 3 HP Outboard Motor for his 1962 Topps contract and that Topps had no problem shipping the Luggage as a gift, but in all fairness, the Luggage will constitute payment for 1963.

If that was agreeable, Hank was supposed to drop the enclosed card in the mail to redeem the Samsonite Luggage. Seems like Hank got the Luggage as this lot includes the following: Letter from Sy Berger to Hank Aaron, 2 different Rush Forms dated 5/62 for redeeming Samsonite Luggage, Shipment notice dated 6-22-62 indicating the Luggage was sent, Invoice from Samsonite for the Luggage and a Baseball Gift Request from 1962. The 2 Rush Forms are signed by Hank Aaron, but the other items have no signatures. Very interesting lot of paperwork from the mid 60's about Hank Aaron, Topps Card Company and Sy Berger of Topps.
