Tiger Woods Exceptionally Rare Single Signed Match Played Titleist "4" Golf Ball PSA/DNA LOA
The rarest single signed golf ball in the hobby, this small sphere has been hand signed by Legendary Future Hall Of Fame Golfer, Tiger Woods. Acquired at the 1996 Oldsmobile Classic. Four rounds in the 60s gave Tiger Woods his second PGA TOUR title in just seven starts and sent him to the season-ending TOUR Championship the following week. However, the win didn't come without some controversy. Midway during the final 18 holes, Lennie Clements told PGA TOUR rules officials that the lower grip on the long putter being used by his playing partner, Taylor Smith, had a flat side. Smith went ahead and finished the final round -- even making birdie on the final hole to tie Woods -- but upon further review, the putter was deemed to be non-conforming.
So Woods, who closed with a 66, won outright, beating Payne Stewart by one stroke, while Smith was disqualified. The win was Woods' fifth straight top-five finish, making him the first to do so since Curtis Strange in 1982. Woods went on to earn PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year honors. "Very gratifying," Woods said. "Very satisfying. But I also have mixed emotions about it. I feel there should have been a playoff with Taylor. He birdied 18 to get into it." Single Signed in black marker, the golf ball alone includes the markings, "4", "Tiger", "Professional 90" Trying to find a single signed Tiger Woods golf ball has been nearly impossible these days, let alone a 1996 pin pointed date when this rookie signed this amazing piece of rare memorabilia. PSA/DNA LOA included.
