(LOT 780)
T206 Drum Tris Speaker (PSA 1) - " 1 of Only 2 PSA/SGC Speaker T206 Drum Cigarette Cards!

Most elite T206 enthusiasts would agree that the five scarcest T206 cigarette backs include Brown Old Mill, Brown Lenox, Broadleaf 460, DRUM and UZIT. Unfortunately, seldom surfacing in the hobby are Hall of Fame specimens carrying the cigarette advertisements of the aforementioned tobacco brands. With that in mind, presented here is the immortal Hall of Fame centerfielder Tris Speaker's "Drum Cigarette" subject in a PSA 1 holder. How rare is this card?

Consider that the COMBINED PSA and SGC census reports list only 2 Speaker Drum cards; an SGC 10/1 and this magnificent PSA 1 offering! Finding any T206 Drum Cigarette card is tough enough, let alone one that carries the iconic image of one of baseball's greatest centerfielders ever! 3,000 hit club member Tristian Speaker roamed centerfield as well or better than anyone who ever played the game, posting a sensational .344 lifetime batting average over his incredible 22-year career.

True, this example has condition issues including severely rounded corners, and an obtrusive horizontal crease running over the top of Speaker's cap, but the fine Speaker central image coupled with the ultra-scarce and aesthetically pleasing Drum advertisement far outweighs the aforementioned flaws. The final exclamation point is the critical Drum ad-back that still retains its original bold plum purple color as well as the following factory related text: "Factory #25, 2nd Dist. VA." that are both affixed to a moderately worn surface.

Bottom line is "Drum" T206 specimens are few and far between for any subject, let alone one that portrays the legendary "Gray Eagle" and that stands tall as one of the only two encapsulated specimens!
