1959 Bazooka Mickey Mantle Hand-Cut with Tab PSA 2.5 GOOD+
SUPER RARE MICKEY!!! The 1959 Bazooka Baseball hand-cut set included 23 unnumbered issues featuring some of the great players of the day including Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, Willie Mays, Duke Snider and the inimitable Mickey Mantle. These hand-cut cards were manually removed from bazooka boxes and originally included a small tab at the bottom calling on fans to "Collect The Whole Set of Giant-sized Trading Cards of 9 All-Star Baseball Players". According to their esteemed Pop Chart, PSA has graded 867 unqualified hand-cut issues with only a fractional 21 still featuring the extremely rare tab at the bottom. This offered 1959 Bazooka Mickey Mantle with tab is a POP 1 and the highest graded issue still carrying the coveted tab. Displaying good borders with the perforation "cut lines" still visible along three edges. Despite the minor surface abrasions and light spotting, the central image of The Mick, with bat in hand, remains in good condition with only light snow overall. This incredibly rare Mickey Mantle card with the original tab should be on every Commerce Comet collector's watch list. Mantle hit 536 home runs and 18 World Series homers (still-standing record). This is undoubtedly a home run for any and all Mantle enthusiasts!
