The 1962 Topps #200 Mantle subject proudly boasts a classic portrait image of the powerful Yankee slugger, with the wood-grained borders and edging magnifying even the slightest surface flaws (similar to the 1955 Bowman and 1971 Topps issues). No wonder only 0.27% of the 7,100+ PSA encapsulated examples have been graded higher than this PSA 8 marvel. The 1962 season would represent Mickey Mantle's final World Series title, with The Mick claiming his third and final AL MVP Award with his 30 round trippers, .321 batting average and .605 slugging percentage.

His stoic portrait image depicts breathtaking facial tints, with the timeless pose well projected against the immaculate powder blue sky setting. In typical fashion, the illustration is somewhat skewed, in this case portraying a mild favoritism towards the lower left edges. Most significantly, the borders have retained the majority of their original wood-grained hue (only the slightest touching is evident near the upper left and lower right corner tips), the final compliment for this outstanding '62 Topps Mantle marvel!
