(LOT 999)
1921 World Series - Babe Ruth Sits Out Game #6 PSA Type 1 Encapsulated International Photo – Measures Approx. 8" x 10"

INJURED BABE!!! The 1921 World Series would pit the Yankees against the Giants in an exciting cross-river matchup, with the Giants besting the Bronx Bombers in eight games (this was the final best-of-nine World Series). Due to an infected left arm and injured knee that he wrenched in Game 5, Babe Ruth did not start the final three games, appearing only as a pinch-hitter in the final inning of Game 8. This PSA Type 1 International photo reveals the Babe in the dugout looking on at Game 6, dressed in formal attire since he was unable to suit up because of his aforementioned ailments. You can clearly see Ruth's infected left arm in a sling, and the high resolution of the sepia tone image is outstanding. Other than a few stray wrinkles, no obtrusive flaws are evident, with this super scarce offering revealing the Sultan of Swat during his early Yankees tenure!
