1909 E254 Colgan's Chips Honus Wagner Square Proof SGC 3.5 VG+ - POP 1; Highest Graded Specimen on the Combined SGA & PSA Pop Charts!

WAGNER PORTRAIT!!! One of the rarest Honus Wagner cards is presented here, a miraculous 1909 Colgan's Chips Honus Wagner Square Proof in a stellar SGC 3.5 holder. One of only three graded examples on any professional grading company's census report, this POP 1 masterpiece is the undisputed finest of its kind. Indeed, the two other known examples are both SGC-graded (2 and Authentic), with the highlight of this miraculous keepsake being the classic Carl Horner T206 portrait image of the immortal Honus Wagner. The 1909-11 E254 Colgan's Chips circular disks were distributed over a three-year period in five-cent Colgan's Mint and Violet Chips gum tins. While nearly 300 subjects are known to exist, only a fraction of them reveal a corresponding "square proof" counterpart. This blank-backed scarcity offers a crystal-clear Wagner portrait image encompassed by a bold black border and relatively clean surfaces, with only some traces of modest surface toning. It's no secret that any Honus Wagner card boasting his iconic T206 portrait pose are realizing stratospheric pricing tags, and considering its stand-alone highest graded stature as well as boasting the outstanding T206 Wagner image, we will let you ultimately decide its potential worth!
