(LOT 156)
1920s Societe Anonyme Babe Ruth Postcard SGC 2 GOOD – The Sole Example on Any Professional Grading Co. Pop Chart!

UNIQUE BABE!!! Presented here is one of Babe Ruth's most elusive cards, an SGC 2 GOOD 1920s Societe Anonyme postcard most likely issued during the early 1920s. At the time this was written, this extreme rarity resided as the sole example listed on any professional grading company's pop chart! The classic batting pose is widely recognized as the image utilized on the dust jacket for Babe's 1920 "The Home Run King" ghostwritten book that provided a fictional account of the Sultan of Swat. The absolutely mesmerizing Ruth batting pose can send shivers down one's spine as he completes the mighty swing that led to a then record 54 round-trippers in his inaugural Big Apple 1920 campaign. Accounting for the grade is even corner and general surface wear, as well as what appears to be a faint diagonal wrinkle in the upper right region. The unmarked verso reveals a "Societe Anonyme, Inc." credit stamp, with general surface wear not impeding the splendid aesthetics. Its bona fide unique status immediately places it as one of the most significant Babe Ruth cards, issued during the decade when the unparalleled Babe would revolutionize baseball via his unprecedented assault on the fences ultimately led to 714 lifetime dingers!
