(LOT 155)
1929 R315 Babe Ruth Position & Team (Scarce "FIELDER, YANKEES A.L." Along Bottom Border) PSA 2 GOOD – POP 1; Only 3 PSA Position & Team Examples Graded Higher!

RARE R315 VARIATION!!! One of the Babe's highly coveted 1920s cardboard heirlooms is the eclectic 1929 R315 subject, presented here in a stellar PSA 2 holder. Of utmost significance, this obscure keepsake includes the scarce "FIELDER, YANKEES A.L." caption across the lower border, a POP 1 rarity only bested by three PSA examples! Several other specimens revealing the same caption along the bottom have breached the five-figure mark, substantiating its immense investment potential. Ruth's immortal batting pose provides the finest contrast and clarity, somewhat favoring the left edge while including the "BABE RUTH – YANKEES" text box within the lower left quadrant. No obtrusive surface flaws are evident on either side, with the rather harsh assessment due to some extremely faint surface abrasions on the verso, possibly due to scrapbook removal. Final highlights include the lack of any glaring creases, subtle corner wear, and the rare "FIELDER, YANKEES A.L." caption along the lower edge, with the Sultan of Swat's unparalleled standing as baseball's greatest all-time player elevating this brilliant marvel to a world-class plateau!
