Pair of 1945 Leister Game Co. Cards (Ruth & DiMaggio) - Both SGC-Graded
PLAY ME!!! In 1945, the Leister Game Company issued the 52-card Autographs Game set featuring Hollywood actors and actresses, singers and performers, presidents and leaders and athletes. Each card featured a black and white photo of the subject, a brief biography or interesting tidbit, a trivia question and a facsimile signature at center. The likes of boxing's Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis, golf's Byron Nelson and Walter Hagan, football's Red Grange and Knute Rockne were among the athletes. But no cards were/are more sought-after than the pair of Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio. Ruth and DiMaggio serve as the answer to the other's trivia question. Offered here is a pair of the two anchoring issues, each graded by SGC. Included is an SGC 7 Babe Ruth and an SGC 5 Joe DiMaggio. The Ruth has only a single card graded higher and the DiMaggio is one of only four graded by SGC. This pair is the anchor of the set and offered here for the taking.
