1909 E92 Dockman & Sons Honus Wagner Batting SGC 1.5 FAIR
HONUS CANDY TREAT!!! The somewhat scarcer of the multiple E92 Dockman & Sons Wagner's is his batting pose (as opposed to throwing), presented here in an SGC 1.5 FAIR holder. The 1909 E92 issues include brand names such as Croft's Candy/Cocoa, Dockman & Sons and Nadja Caramels, with the Honus Wagner subject being the most riveting and valuable player. It's no secret that pricing for Wagner's cards issued during his playing days have skyrocketed in value, with many of his low-grade "E" cards as hot as a firecracker and now fetching in excess of five figures. Although this example has been awarded a 1.5 due to an off-registered image, rounded corners and scattered toning/back soiling, it still retains a robust fire engine red background and atypical near-perfect centering. A simple case here of the right to own a copy of one of Wagner's more elusive candy cards issued some 114 years ago!
