1907-09 H.M. Taylor Detroit Tigers Team Postcard with a Rookie Ty Cobb SGC 3 VG
ROOKIE COBB!!! Presented here is a super eye-pleasing 1907-09 H.M. Taylor Detroit Tigers team postcard portraying a rookie Ty Cobb. From 1907 through 1909, the Detroit Tigers captured three consecutive AL pennants, led by the incomparable Georgia Peach and their HOF player/manager Hughie Jennings. Distributed by H.M. Taylor for three seasons, its most important aspect is the inclusion of a rookie-era Cobb, who had broken into the major leagues with the Detroit club in 1905. The Georgia Peach claimed his inaugural batting championship in 1907 and never looked back, winning an unfathomable 12 batting titles in 13 seasons. The postcard emanates outstanding clarity, with the grade due to modest corner wear and some scattered soiling on the unmarked back. Hughie Jennings is seated in the front center, with the immortal Ty Cobb situated in the second row (third from left), and stealing the show as the featured player!
