GOLD BORDER TYRUS!!! The regal gold borders are the highlights of the highly coveted 1911 T205 Gold Border subjects, also joined by a host of elaborate baseball diamond designs. Save the famous Hoblitzell Error card, the set's most desirable subject is the fiery Tiger's Hall of Fame outfielder Tyrus Raymond Cobb, and his T205 Piedmont Cigarettes specimen is presented here in a mid-grade PSA 4.5 VG-EX+ holder. The Georgia Peach is one of baseball's five HOF 1936 charter members and one of our National Pastime's greatest five-tool players. Justifying that notion are his .366 lifetime batting average and unprecedented 12 AL batting titles, nine of which were realized in consecutive manner. His portrait image on this T205 marvel somewhat favors the right edge, with its sparkling facial tints and fine clarity set against a robust red and green diamond that reveals no glaring surface flaws. Atypically, most of the gold border hue is intact, with only some diminutive wear near the upper right and lower left corner tips. Preventing a higher assessment is some negligible tobacco soiling on the verso, with this highly coveted Georgia Peach heirloom being one of the finer preserved mid-grade specimens!
