1911 T3 Turkey Red Cabinets #47 Frank Chance Checklist Back PSA 5 EX
TAKE A CHANCE!!! One of the legendary Frank Chance's most compelling cardboard keepsakes is his 1911 Turkey Red Cabinet, offered here in an outstanding PSA 5 holder. Ultra-desirable at this mid-grade plateau, only six PSA examples have managed to best this eye-pleasing marvel. Nicknamed "Peerless Leader", Chance was the final link in the immortal "Tinker to Evers to Chance" double play combination. While a fine first baseman and batsman, Chance's place in Cooperstown was solidified by his managerial success, whereby from 1906 through 1910, he led the Cubs to four pennants and two championships. This scarce for the grade artifact offers a crystal-clear Chance batting pose bursting with an array of vibrant hues. While subtle corner wear and some scattered back toning account for the grade, the breathtaking batting pose, fresh-looking obverse side surface, relatively clean borders, and outstanding aesthetics certainly make a case for this revered heirloom meriting a higher assessment!
